I already have CCTV — why do I need Kairos?

Your CCTV records, but nobody watches it 24/7. Footage only helps after something has already happened. Kairos watches the same cameras live and alerts you on WhatsApp within 30 seconds, so you can act while it still matters.

Do I need to buy new cameras?

No. Kairos connects to your existing CCTV cameras through your DVR, NVR or network. The edge device auto-discovers cameras on your network — no new cameras, no rewiring. Hikvision, CP Plus, Dahua, Uniview, Reolink, TP-Link VIGI, Imou, Godrej, Honeywell and Samsung/Hanwha are set up automatically, and if your cameras run through a recorder box, almost any other system works too.

Is my video footage uploaded to the cloud?

Never. All AI processing happens locally on the Kairos edge device inside your shop. Only text metadata — timestamps, event scores, attendance logs — reaches the cloud. Your footage stays on your premises, always.

What happens if my internet goes down?

Kairos keeps running. The edge device continues detecting and stores events locally on disk, then syncs everything once the connection returns. Nothing is lost. If WhatsApp delivery fails, alerts fall back to SMS.

How long does installation take?

Under 10 minutes. Plug the edge device into your router, log in with your WhatsApp number, scan the QR code in the box to pair it with your shop, and upload staff photos. Alerts start arriving on WhatsApp immediately.

My staff will object to being monitored. What do I tell them?

Face recognition is used only to identify your own staff for attendance — first-in and last-out times. No personal data leaves the shop, no video is stored in the cloud, and there is no biometric device to punch. For most staff it replaces a manual register, and it means their overtime is recorded accurately too.

I'm not tech-savvy. Can I still use it?

Everything runs through WhatsApp. If you can read a WhatsApp message and reply with 1, 2 or 3, you can use Kairos. The dashboard is there when you want detail, but you never have to open it.

How does the AI learn my shop?

Kairos builds a Shop DNA baseline of what normal looks like in your specific shop. Days 1–7 only very high-confidence alerts fire (85%+), days 8–14 medium-confidence alerts begin, and from day 15 it runs at full sensitivity. Every time you reply on WhatsApp it gets sharper. It also knows 30+ Indian festivals, so a busy Diwali floor isn't flagged as an anomaly.

What does Kairos cost?

Plans start at ₹999/month for a single camera — about ₹33 a day. There is a one-time setup fee that includes the edge device, UPS, cabling and professional installation, and the hardware is yours. Annual billing gives you two months free. No hidden charges.

Does it keep watching after I close the shop?

Yes — that's when it matters most. Once the shutter is down nobody should be moving inside, so any motion after closing raises an alert on WhatsApp with a 30-second clip, at 2 AM or any other hour. It runs every night without anyone watching a screen.

Which types of shops does Kairos support?

Kairos is built for Indian retail: electronics and mobile stores, pharmacies, supermarkets and kirana, apparel and footwear, jewellery and watches, and hardware and auto parts shops.

How does CCTV-based attendance work?

Upload one photo per staff member. Kairos recognises faces on your existing cameras and records first-in and last-out automatically, tracks late arrivals, and calculates salaries with your own deduction rules — no biometric hardware needed.

These terms govern your use of the Kairos retail intelligence platform — the edge device, cloud services, dashboards, and WhatsApp notifications — operated by Kairos Labs Pvt. Ltd. (“Kairos”, “we”). By placing an order or using the service, you agree to these terms.

1. The Service

Kairos connects to your existing CCTV cameras through an edge device installed at your premises and provides AI-powered security alerts, staff attendance, salary calculation, and business reports. Kairos is a decision-support tool — it does not replace physical security, insurance, statutory payroll compliance, or your own judgement.

2. Hardware & Setup Fee

The one-time setup fee covers the edge device (refurbished business-class mini PC), UPS, cabling, and professional installation. You own the hardware after payment.
Hardware carries a 12-month replacement warranty against failure under normal use. Physical damage, power surges outside the supplied UPS, and tampering are excluded.
The device requires continuous power and a broadband internet connection that you provide.

3. Subscription & Billing

Monthly or annual subscription, billed in advance per store via Razorpay. Annual plans include two months free.
If payment fails, a 7-day grace period applies; after that, alert delivery and dashboard access are suspended until payment resumes. On-device recording continues.
Prices may change with 30 days' notice; changes never apply mid-billing-cycle.
You may cancel anytime. Service continues to the end of the paid period. Setup fees are non-refundable after installation.

4. Your Responsibilities

Obtain staff consent for face-recognition attendance and display a CCTV notice for visitors (see our Privacy Policy).
Use the service only for lawful security and workforce management at your own premises.
Keep your login credentials and WhatsApp number secure — alerts and actions from your number are treated as yours.
Verify salary calculations before making payments; Kairos computations are advisory and depend on correct shift configuration.

5. Acceptable Use

You must not use Kairos to surveil private areas (washrooms, changing rooms), monitor individuals outside your business premises, harass staff, or violate any applicable law including the DPDP Act, 2023. We may suspend accounts used unlawfully.

6. Service Levels & Limitations

AI detection is probabilistic. False positives and missed events can occur, especially during the first 30 days of calibration. Alert delivery depends on WhatsApp/SMS carriers and your internet connectivity.
We target 99% cloud uptime but do not guarantee uninterrupted service.
Video stays on your device; we cannot recover footage you delete or that is lost to hardware failure.

7. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Kairos' total liability for any claim is limited to the subscription fees paid in the 12 months preceding the claim. Kairos is not liable for theft, loss, or damage occurring at your premises — the service assists your security; it does not insure it.

8. Data & Privacy

Data handling is governed by our Privacy Policy. In short: video never leaves your premises; the cloud stores metadata only.

9. Termination

Either party may terminate with 30 days' notice. On termination we delete your cloud data within 90 days (except records we must keep by law). The edge device is yours; you may request a factory wipe procedure.

10. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts at [City], India.
